Hastings, NE – Strong to severe storms are forecasted to impact much of Nebraska this afternoon and evening. The National Weather Service warns that these storms could produce wind gusts reaching up to 60 MPH and hail as large as ping pong balls. The storms are expected to develop between 3 PM and midnight, with the highest risks centered in the eastern regions of the state.

According to the National Weather Service, there is some uncertainty regarding the exact location where storms will initiate, but the best chances for severe weather lie in the eastern portion of Nebraska, including areas around Hastings, Grand Island, and Lincoln. Localized flooding is also a possibility in some regions, though tornado risks remain low.

Residents are urged to remain vigilant, especially those in central and eastern Nebraska, and to monitor weather updates as conditions can change rapidly. As these storms move through, taking shelter indoors is advised if hail or strong winds are reported in your area.
