Cheyenne, WY – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for southeastern Wyoming and parts of the Nebraska Panhandle, with snow and hazardous travel conditions expected through Wednesday morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne, snowfall accumulations will vary by region. The Sierra Madre Range could see up to 10 inches of snow, while areas like Laramie, Cheyenne, and Kimball are expected to receive between 1 and 4 inches. Winds could reach up to 40 mph in higher elevations, creating blowing snow and reducing visibility.

Roads, especially bridges and overpasses, are expected to become slick. The Wyoming Department of Transportation advises travelers to slow down and use caution. Outdoor recreation in affected mountain areas is discouraged due to potential disorientation caused by low visibility.

The advisory remains in effect until 5 AM MST Wednesday for most areas, while higher elevations, including the Sierra Madre Range, will remain under advisory until 11 AM MST. Travelers can check the latest road conditions by calling 511.
