Hastings, NE – The National Weather Service in Hastings has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for north-central Kansas and far south-central Nebraska, where 2 to 4 inches of snow are expected to fall overnight through Monday morning.

The advisory is in effect from midnight through noon Monday, covering communities including Phillipsburg, Smith Center, Osborne, Mankato, Beloit, Red Cloud, Hebron, and Alma.

Forecasters say snow will begin after midnight, with the heaviest accumulation between 4 a.m. and 10 a.m., making for snow-covered and slippery roads during the morning commute.

While winds are expected to remain light—generally under 10 mph—, visibility could be reduced at times during periods of heavier snow. Total snowfall should range between 2 and 3 inches across most areas, though parts of north-central Kansas may see up to 4 inches.

Drivers are advised to slow down and allow extra time when traveling Monday morning, particularly along secondary and rural roads. Real-time road condition updates are available via 511 for both Nebraska and Kansas.

The Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from midnight Sunday through noon Monday.
