Omaha, Nebraska – Snow will continue overnight across eastern Nebraska and southwest Iowa, creating slick road conditions through 6 a.m. CST Friday and impacting the early morning commute in the Omaha metro.

According to the National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley, a Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 a.m. Additional snowfall of 2 to 4 inches is expected across Douglas, Sarpy, Cass, Dodge, Washington, Saunders, Butler, and Colfax counties in Nebraska, along with Pottawattamie, Mills, Harrison, and Shelby counties in Iowa.

Roads will remain snow-covered before sunrise.

Interstates 80 and 29, along with Highway 75 and major surface streets in Omaha, Bellevue, Papillion, Fremont, and Council Bluffs, may see reduced traction and slower travel speeds overnight. Untreated bridges and overpasses could become especially slick as temperatures hold below freezing.

The Friday morning commute will be impacted.
