Hastings, NE – Drivers in south-central Nebraska and north-central Kansas should prepare for hazardous road conditions as a Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until noon Thursday. Visibility could drop below a quarter-mile, making travel on Interstate 80 and surrounding roads dangerous.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Hastings, dense fog is expected to persist through the morning, potentially extending as far north as Highway 6. Motorists should slow down, use low beams, and allow extra time to reach destinations safely.
The fog will clear by midday, giving way to partly cloudy skies and a high of 48°F. A slight chance of rain and freezing rain remains overnight, with temperatures dipping to 29°F.
Looking ahead, Friday will be sunny and warmer with highs near 54°F, while the weekend brings a mix of partly sunny skies and mild temperatures in the upper 50s. Overnight lows will range from 25°F to 36°F.
