Fresno, CA – Moonlight Companies has voluntarily recalled its California-grown conventional yellow and white peaches, sold under both the Moonlight and Kroger brand names, due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, according to a company announcement posted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on October 30, 2025.
The recall covers individual peaches and multi-packs sold nationwide between September 16 and October 29, 2025. Products were distributed to major retail stores across the U.S. and may be labeled with PLU stickers 4401 or 4044. Multi-pack items bear UPC codes including 8 10248 03165 6, 8 98429 00209 1, and others listed by the FDA.
This recall does not include peaches labeled “Washington” or “Organic.” The issue was discovered after Listeria was detected in the packing facility environment. No illnesses have been reported to date.
Listeria infection can cause serious or fatal illness, especially among young children, older adults, pregnant women, and those with weakened immune systems. Symptoms may include fever, muscle aches, nausea, and diarrhea.
Consumers are urged to check their produce labels, discard affected peaches, and contact Moonlight Companies at (855) 215-5017 for additional information. The recall is being conducted in cooperation with the FDA.
