Washington, D.C. — With Election Day approaching, three national law enforcement associations announced their readiness to ensure a secure, fair 2024 election process. The Major County Sheriffs of America (MCSA), National Sheriffs’ Association (NSA), and Major Cities Chiefs Association (MCCA) have trained and coordinated for over 18 months to bolster election security.

Each group held exercises, briefings, and discussions with officials to prepare their members for potential election-related threats. According to the MCSA, MCCA, and NSA, intelligence-sharing will help officers across communities recognize and respond to potential issues swiftly. Local law enforcement will focus on keeping polling places safe, ensuring secure ballot transport, and monitoring certification activities post-election.

Voters are encouraged to report any suspicious activities by following the “See Something, Say Something” approach. The associations also emphasized their commitment to a balanced presence on Election Day, avoiding actions that could be perceived as interference.

The groups called on all citizens to vote, whether in person or by mail. “A safe election is essential to democracy,” the associations noted, urging voters to participate without fear. They pledged ongoing coordination through Election Day to maintain a secure, accessible environment for every American voter.
