Nashville, TN — Middle Tennessee is waking up to a cold and brisk Saturday, and the National Weather Service says more active weather is on the way. Rain is expected to move into the region later today, continuing through Saturday evening and lasting into Sunday morning.
While temperatures will be slightly warmer today compared to Friday, conditions will remain chilly. Highs in the lower to mid-50s should be just warm enough to keep today’s precipitation from mixing with snow.
Rain continues into early Sunday, with scattered morning showers before gradual improvement later in the day. Temperatures on Sunday will again run below normal, with highs in the upper 30s to upper 40s and overnight lows dipping back into the 20s and 30s.
Forecasters are also watching a system early next week that could bring light snow to parts of northwest Middle Tennessee Monday night into early Tuesday. Locations north and west of Nashville—including Clarksville, Dover, Waverly, and nearby communities—have the best chance of seeing measurable snowfall. Any amounts, however, look light at this time, generally under one inch.
For Nashville and areas to the south and east, the probability of accumulating snow remains lower, though some flurries or light wintry precipitation cannot be ruled out.
Temperatures will remain seasonably cold through the start of the week, with Monday featuring partly sunny skies during the day and the chance of overnight showers or light snow in the northwest counties.
Residents should prepare for another cold stretch and keep an eye on forecast updates as the Monday night system becomes better defined.
