Nashville, Tenn. – Thunderstorms will ease slightly across Middle Tennessee on Sunday, but residents should brace for another round of rain and lightning by early Monday.

According to the National Weather Service in Nashville, scattered showers and storms are expected Sunday afternoon and evening, with temperatures reaching between 79 and 88 degrees. While today’s coverage is lower than the past few days, rain chances are forecast to increase again by Monday morning, continuing through at least Wednesday.

Cities across Davidson, Rutherford, and Williamson counties may see isolated downpours Sunday, with the best chances occurring after 2 p.m. Monday’s storms are more likely, with lows in the mid-60s and highs nearing 87°F. Thunderstorms could impact morning commutes, especially along I-24 and I-40. Residents are urged to head indoors if they hear thunder, as lightning remains a key hazard.

Keep devices charged and avoid outdoor plans during peak storm hours. Gardens may benefit from the rainfall, but flash flooding risks could return in low-lying areas if totals accumulate.

Rain chances remain elevated through midweek, with more widespread coverage expected Tuesday and Wednesday. Stay tuned for additional updates as new advisories may be issued.
