Nashville, TN – A sweltering heatwave is set to grip Nashville starting today, with temperatures expected to soar above 95°F for at least eight consecutive days. The National Weather Service in Nashville reports this is the first such extended heat event since 2012.

According to the National Weather Service, the 6-10 and 8-14 day forecasts both indicate a continuation of above-normal temperatures. This prolonged heatwave is coinciding with the start of summer, suggesting a particularly warm season ahead. Rain chances are expected to be minimal over the next several days, with only slight possibilities of precipitation.

Today’s forecast predicts temperatures ranging from 86°F to 95°F, with similar conditions persisting through Wednesday. Friday and Saturday are expected to be the hottest, with highs between 88°F and 98°F. Rain chances remain low at 10% through Saturday but may increase slightly to 20-40% by Monday.

Residents are advised to stay hydrated and limit outdoor activities during peak heat hours. Those anticipating relief from thunderstorms will need to wait until at least Sunday, as current predictions indicate.
