Nashville Tragedy: Mother and Son Die in 8:30 p.m. Crash on Old Hickory Boulevard

Nashville, TN – A Nashville woman and her son were killed in a single-vehicle crash late Monday night on Old Hickory Boulevard.

According to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, the crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Old Hickory Boulevard and Anthony Street. The victims were identified as 41-year-old Corey Vondohlen and 66-year-old Jill Edmondson.

Police reported that Vondohlen was driving a 2014 Kia Optima northbound when the vehicle veered off the road and struck a utility pole. Edmondson, a Nashville resident, died at the scene. Vondohlen, of Maryville, was transported to Skyline Medical Center, where he later died.

Witnesses told authorities that the vehicle was being driven erratically before the crash. Investigators are working to determine if impairment may have contributed to the incident. Toxicology testing is underway.

Metro Nashville Police have not reported any other vehicles or individuals involved. The roadway was briefly closed Monday night while crews cleared the scene and initiated the investigation.

Motorists in the area are advised to remain cautious and watch for ongoing police activity. Authorities continue to urge drivers to stay alert and avoid distracted or impaired driving.
