Nashville, Tennessee – A warming trend is forecast for the Nashville area following freezing overnight temperatures, according to the National Weather Service.

Early Tuesday morning conditions at Nashville International Airport showed temperatures near 27°F, with wind chills around 16°F under overcast skies. Overnight lows are expected to dip to around 23°F, posing continued cold exposure risks during early morning hours.

The National Weather Service reports gradual warming beginning Tuesday afternoon, with highs near 38°F, followed by clearer skies and continued temperature increases midweek. By Wednesday, highs are expected to reach near 48°F, with overnight lows moderating to around 30°F.

Conditions improve further on New Year’s Day, with sunny skies and highs near 51°F, marking a nearly 25-degree increase from early-week morning lows. Calm winds are expected, reducing additional weather-related impacts.

By Friday, highs are forecast to climb to around 57°F, but the warming trend will be accompanied by increasing moisture. A 40 percent chance of showers is forecast Friday morning, increasing to 60 percent by Friday night. While no severe weather is anticipated, periods of rain may affect evening travel and outdoor plans.

No winter precipitation, ice accumulation, or snowfall is currently expected during this period. Spotter activation is not anticipated, and no watches or warnings are in effect at this time.
