The driver of the Navigator reportedly abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene on foot.
The impact killed two passengers in the backseat of the Toyota Sienna, identified as Queen Umuhoza, 19, of LaVergne, and Francine Nyanduhura, 22, of Smyrna. The Sienna’s driver and a front-seat passenger were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Ford Edge was also hospitalized at Southern Hills Medical Center.
Authorities stated there was no evidence of impairment found at the crash site. The vehicle believed to be responsible was left at the scene, and the driver has not yet been located.
