Nashville, TN – A fugitive serial robbery suspect was arrested Tuesday afternoon at a strip mall in Nashville, authorities said.
Alex Currithers, 29, was taken into custody by Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) detectives and U.S. Marshals in the 3600 block of Bell Road. Officers located his black Jeep Grand Cherokee, which matched the description of a vehicle used in multiple armed robberies. Law enforcement recovered a handgun, ten grams of cocaine, 5.3 grams of fentanyl, and eight grams of methamphetamine from the vehicle.
According to police, Currithers admitted to committing armed robberies at the following locations in Nashville:
- Dollar General (2724 Murfreesboro Pike) on March 17
- Circle K (3043 Nolensville Pike) on March 12
- Dollar General (3006 Gallatin Pike) on March 10
Authorities identified Currithers after receiving public tips and reviewing surveillance footage. The U.S. Marshals Service also linked him to 18 outstanding warrants in Georgia, including charges of aggravated robbery and aggravated assault against an officer.
Currithers faces local charges of being a fugitive from justice and three counts of aggravated robbery. He also reportedly made incriminating statements about additional robberies in LaVergne and Brentwood.
The investigation, which remains ongoing, was assisted by MNPD’s Canine Unit, Aviation Section, and the LaVergne and Brentwood Police Departments.
