Nashville, TN – A 20-year-old Nashville woman was killed Friday evening after being struck by two vehicles while crossing Bell Road in South Nashville, police confirmed.

According to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, the crash occurred around 5:40 p.m. Friday in the 600 block of Bell Road, near the intersection with Rice Road. The victim was later identified as Kira Phillips, 20, of Nashville.

Police said Phillips was walking in the continuous left-turn lane on Bell Road when she was struck by a northbound Nissan Versa whose driver was turning left onto Rice Road. The impact threw her into a nearby lane of travel, where she was hit by a second vehicle.

Phillips was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

Authorities said both drivers remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment. No charges have been announced at this time.

The crash occurred during the evening commute, a period when Bell Road typically experiences heavy traffic. Drivers in the area experienced brief slowdowns as police closed portions of the roadway to investigate.

Efforts were underway Friday night to notify Phillips’ next of kin.

The Metro Nashville Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has relevant information is encouraged to contact MNPD.

Pedestrian safety remains a growing concern across Davidson County, particularly along busy arterial roads like Bell Road, which has seen multiple serious crashes in recent years.
