Motorists in Middle Tennessee are advised to exercise caution this morning as a dense fog advisory remains in effect until 6 a.m. Wednesday. The National Weather Service in Nashville has warned of visibility dropping to less than a quarter-mile in some areas, potentially making travel hazardous.

According to the advisory, the affected areas include major cities such as Nashville, Clarksville, Lebanon, and Columbia, among others. Drivers are urged to reduce speed, use low-beam headlights, and maintain safe distances between vehicles.

Meanwhile, colder temperatures are expected to arrive later in the week, with a freeze warning issued for Thursday night through Saturday morning. Middle Tennessee could experience overnight lows near or below freezing, with parts of the Cumberland Plateau potentially seeing a dusting of snow. Gusty winds will make temperatures feel even colder, with wind chills in the low 20s.

Today’s high temperatures are expected to reach the upper 50s under mostly sunny skies, providing a brief respite before the cold snap.
