Nashville, Tennessee – Tennessee is poised for a noticeable temperature rebound during the first full week of February, as a broader warm-up across the Southeast nudges conditions closer to seasonal norms after a colder end to January.

According to the National Weather Service and NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center, temperatures from Tuesday through the following Monday are expected to trend near to slightly above normal across much of Tennessee. In Middle Tennessee, including Nashville, Murfreesboro, and Franklin, afternoon highs may climb into the upper 40s and low 50s at times, with overnight lows generally settling in the 30s.

West Tennessee, including Memphis and Jackson, could see similar or slightly warmer afternoons, while East Tennessee and the higher elevations of the Plateau and Smokies remain cooler, especially at night. Even so, the broader pattern does not indicate a prolonged surge of Arctic air, signaling a break from the harshest winter cold.

Precipitation chances appear limited during this stretch, reducing the risk of widespread rain or wintry weather. Travel along major corridors such as I-40, I-24, and I-65 should remain largely unaffected, though patchy morning frost is possible in sheltered areas.

Residents may notice a more comfortable feel during the afternoons, though chilly mornings will continue. While this warm-up does not signal an early spring, it reflects a gradual moderation as February unfolds. Additional outlooks or advisories may be issued if conditions shift later in the week.
