Nashville, Tennessee – Cooler and drier weather settled across Middle Tennessee Monday after a cold front moved through the region, ending recent rainfall and setting the stage for a stretch of mostly sunny days.

According to the National Weather Service in Nashville, the cold front fully crossed Middle Tennessee overnight, bringing steadily falling temperatures and gusty winds, with only a few lingering showers possible early Monday. High temperatures Monday were forecast to range from 32 to 37 degrees, with overnight lows dropping into the mid-teens to lower 20s.

In Nashville, temperatures were expected to bottom out near 16°F overnight, while Murfreesboro and Lebanon saw similar lows in the upper teens to low 20s. Despite the cold start, skies were forecast to remain clear, allowing sunshine to dominate the early part of the week.

Tuesday was expected to remain dry and cold, with highs ranging from 31 to 39 degrees across Middle Tennessee. A gradual warm-up begins Wednesday, when highs climb into the low to mid-40s, before reaching near 50 degrees by midweek.

The National Weather Service noted that conditions should return to seasonal norms by Wednesday, with temperatures leveling off through the latter half of the week. Rain chances remain low through Thursday, offering several days of dry weather.

By Friday, a 40 to 60 percent chance of rain returns to the forecast, with highs in the upper 40s to mid-50s, followed by lower rain chances heading into the weekend.

Commuters, students, and early-morning workers may feel the coldest impacts during overnight and early morning hours. Residents are encouraged to dress warmly and monitor updated forecasts as temperatures fluctuate through the week.
