Nashville, TN – A teacher at Jere Baxter Middle School has been arrested on a charge of sexual exploitation of a minor, according to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.

Police said Alexander Donahoe, 28, was taken into custody Tuesday night following a months-long investigation led by the department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit.

According to authorities, the probe began in March when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reported that a computer IP address from Nashville was being used for reverse image searches involving child sexual material. Detectives subpoenaed records from an Internet service provider, which allegedly identified Donahoe as the subscriber.

During questioning, Donahoe admitted to possessing child sexual material, police said. A search warrant was executed at his residence, where investigators seized electronic equipment for further forensic analysis.

The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department confirmed Donahoe is being held on a $100,000 bond.

The department did not immediately release additional details on whether any local students were involved.
