Nashville, Tenn. – Relief is finally in sight for Middle Tennessee after another blistering stretch of dangerous heat. Temperatures across the region will remain sweltering through Thursday, with heat index values topping out near 110° in the afternoons.
According to the National Weather Service in Nashville, an Extreme Heat Warning remains in effect until 8 p.m. Wednesday. Actual highs are expected to hit 97° Wednesday and 95° Thursday, with only modest relief at night as lows hover around 70°.
By Friday, cooler air begins filtering in, with highs falling into the upper 80s and continuing to drop into the upper 70s to low 80s by the weekend. Cities like Clarksville, Murfreesboro, and Columbia will still feel sticky through Thursday but should see noticeably milder conditions Friday onward.
Residents are urged to limit outdoor activity, stay hydrated, and check on vulnerable neighbors. Extended heat exposure without proper precautions can quickly lead to heat-related illness.
Though relief is coming, dangerous conditions remain in place through late Thursday. Stay tuned for any additional advisories as the cooler trend builds into early next week.
