Nashville, TN – The US National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for parts of Middle Tennessee, mainly across the Cumberland Plateau, including Crossville, Jamestown, and nearby communities.
The advisory is in effect tonight from 6 p.m. through 2 a.m. Friday, as a mix of wintry precipitation — including freezing rain and sleet — is expected to move into the region.
Forecasters say there is a medium chance that areas on the Plateau could experience minor ice accumulation, which could lead to slick roads and hazardous travel late tonight and early Friday morning.
Residents are advised to monitor forecasts for updates throughout the day and to use caution if driving overnight, especially on bridges and overpasses, where icy conditions may develop first.
