Nashville, TN – Light snow showers are expected to hit Middle Tennessee today, with the highest chance between 2 p.m. and 10 p.m. Though accumulation is expected to stay minimal—ranging from a dusting to 1/4 inch—roadways such as I-40 could become slick, particularly during evening commutes.

According to the National Weather Service in Nashville, areas of the Upper Cumberland Plateau may see up to 1/2 inch of snow. Rain and snow showers are forecast to mix early this afternoon before transitioning to snow later. Temperatures will remain cold, with highs near 40°F and dropping to 22°F tonight. Drivers are advised to use caution on bridges and overpasses as freezing conditions develop overnight.

Looking ahead, Tuesday will bring a brief respite, with mostly sunny skies and highs near 38°F. However, colder weather returns by midweek. On Wednesday night, another slight chance of snow showers is predicted, though significant accumulation remains unlikely. Winds on Thursday could reach gusts of 20 mph, making the 41°F high feel much colder.

Residents should plan ahead for morning frosts later in the week and bundle up for frigid overnight lows, which will drop to 19°F by Thursday night. With no major storms on the horizon, the extended forecast calls for sunny skies Friday and a slight chance of rain Saturday.
