Naperville, IL – Teachers in Naperville School District 203 are preparing to walk off the job Tuesday as contract negotiations remain at a standstill.

According to the Naperville teachers union, members voted last week to authorize a strike after months of negotiations failed to produce a new agreement. Union officials said educators feel they have no other choice and confirmed plans to begin a work stoppage on Tuesday.

The potential strike would impact thousands of students across District 203, which serves much of Naperville and surrounding communities. Teachers say they are seeking a fair contract but argue that discussions with the district have repeatedly stalled, leaving key issues unresolved.

District 203 officials have not yet issued a public response to the strike announcement. If teachers walk out Tuesday, the district may need to shift to alternative arrangements, though no official plans have been announced. Parents are being advised to monitor district updates for guidance in the event of a strike.
