Naperville, IL – Drivers heading into downtown Naperville today should expect significant traffic delays as police prepare for a large “No Kings” rally planned outside City Hall from noon to 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 18, according to the Naperville Police Department.

Officials say the demonstration may cause increased vehicular and pedestrian congestion in the downtown area, prompting motorists to plan for extra travel time and possible detours. The city emphasized that additional officers will be present “for the safety of all motorists and participants.”

The protest, referred to by organizers as the “No Kings” rally, is anticipated to draw a large turnout near City Hall and surrounding blocks. While police did not specify the expected size of the crowd, they encouraged drivers to avoid downtown during peak hours if possible.

“Please allow for extra travel time and potential delays if you are traveling to downtown Naperville during that time,” the department stated. “There will be an increased Naperville Police presence in the area for the safety of all.”

Local businesses and residents in the vicinity of Aurora Avenue and Eagle Street may experience temporary access restrictions or slowed movement throughout the early afternoon as the event unfolds.
