Naperville, IL – The bridge over the creek east of Meadow Road at 2359 Nottingham Lane in Springbrook Parkway is set for removal, the Naperville Park District announced. A recent inspection revealed significant structural deficiencies, making repairs or improvements impractical.

According to the Naperville Park District, the decision to close and subsequently remove the bridge was made after careful consideration of the inspection results, which highlighted the bridge’s inability to safely traffic. The Park District stated that the inspection found various issues, including compromised structural integrity and wear that could not be feasibly addressed through standard repair methods.

The bridge, located in a heavily utilized part of the park, had long been a part of local commuting and recreational paths. Its closure and impending removal will impact regular park-goers, prompting the Park District to explore alternative routes and solutions to maintain connectivity within Springbrook Parkway.
