Naperville, IL – A Bolingbrook man has been charged after police say he secretly placed cameras inside bathrooms at a Naperville gym earlier this year.
According to Naperville Police, detectives arrested Erick Palacios, 47, of the 600 block of Kingsbrooke Crossing in Bolingbrook, on Sunday, Aug. 24. Investigators said the case began March 22, when an employee at Title Boxing Club on Plainfield-Naperville Road discovered small hidden cameras inside two restrooms.
Police allege Palacios, who was a member of the gym, was responsible for installing the devices. A search warrant carried out at his home reportedly led to the seizure of electronics containing multiple videos and photographs of victims recorded between January and March of 2025, officials said.
Palacios faces 11 counts of Unauthorized Video Recording and Live Video Transmission, each a Class 4 felony. Authorities stated that each charge represents a different alleged victim. Police said Palacios turned himself in to authorities on Aug. 24 and was later taken to Will County Jail.
The Naperville Police Department emphasized that the charges are accusations and Palacios is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
