Naperville, Illinois – A judge denied pretrial release for an 18-year-old charged in a November armed robbery, keeping him in custody as the case proceeds.
According to the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office, Judge Maureen Riordan granted prosecutors’ motion to detain Timothy Hadley, 18, of the 800 block of Back Bay Court in Minooka. Hadley is charged with one count of armed robbery with a firearm, a Class X felony; one count of aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon, a Class 4 felony; and six counts of misdemeanor aggravated assault.
Authorities allege the incident occurred around 9:12 p.m. Nov. 24, 2025, near the intersection of Sleight Street and School Street in downtown Naperville. Prosecutors said four individuals were inside a black Honda Pilot when a white Nissan Sentra pulled in front of them, blocking their vehicle.
Officials allege Hadley exited the Sentra wearing a hoodie and face covering, displayed a handgun, and approached the Honda. Court records state he allegedly opened the driver’s door and demanded a cellphone from a rear passenger before fleeing the scene in the Nissan.
Naperville police later identified Hadley as a suspect. Authorities said he was taken into custody Feb. 11, 2026, following a traffic stop in which he was a passenger.
Hadley’s next court appearance is scheduled for March 9 before Judge Mia McPherson.
The case remains ongoing. Officials remind the public that the charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
This case may be of particular relevance to downtown commuters and students who frequent the area.
