Naperville residents looking to safely dispose of sensitive documents can take advantage of a free shredding event hosted by the Naperville Police Department and Naperville Park District. The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Centennial Beach Parking Lot, located at 500 W. Jackson Ave.

Shredding will be provided on-site, with the event designed to help protect individuals from identity theft by safely destroying confidential and sensitive materials. The event is limited to two banker-size boxes or bags of documents per person, and each container should not weigh more than 15 pounds. Participants are asked to avoid including any metal or plastic binder rings or clips, although staples and paperclips are permitted.

The shredding will continue until the trucks are full, so residents are encouraged to arrive early. This service offers an easy and secure way for residents to protect their personal information while reducing the risk of identity theft.

The event is open to Naperville residents only and is sponsored by the Naperville Police Department and Naperville Park District.
