Mundelein, IL – A Mundelein man was arrested for driving under the influence after crashing into a school bus on April 4, 2025. The incident occurred around 7:48 a.m. in the area of Butterfield and Allanson.
According to the Mundelein Police Department, the driver of a Nissan sedan struck the bus, which was parked on private property. Fortunately, no students were aboard at the time of the crash. Officers located both drivers on the scene, and rescue personnel evaluated them for minor injuries. Neither individual was transported to the hospital.
After a preliminary investigation, the driver of the sedan was found to be intoxicated and was subsequently charged with driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI).
The collision took place in a quiet area, and both vehicles were on private property at the time of the crash. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.
