Portland, OR – A coordinated drug enforcement operation across the Portland metro region today resulted in a major narcotics seizure after law enforcement agencies executed three simultaneous search warrants in Multnomah, Clackamas and Clark counties. The raids, part of an ongoing federal and local investigation, led to the discovery of approximately 14 pounds of assorted drugs, two firearms, and thousands of dollars in cash.
According to the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), the warrants were served in Portland, Milwaukie and Vancouver, Washington, as part of a joint investigation conducted by the MCSO Dangerous Drug Team (DDT) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The searches are connected to alleged criminal activity involving multiple individuals. Officials say additional details, including the identities of those arrested, cannot yet be released.
Assisting agencies included the FBI, Port of Portland Police Department, Internal Revenue Service, U.S. Marshals Service and the U.S. Postal Inspector Service.
Investigators reported seizing 3.5 pounds of methamphetamine, seven pounds of cocaine, roughly 6,500 Xanax bars, hundreds of LSD tablets, more than 2.5 pounds of mushrooms and nearly a pound of MDMA. They also recovered powdered and liquid ketamine, one handgun and one shotgun.
Two people have been taken into custody, and federal charges are expected.
The MCSO Dangerous Drug Team is a multi-jurisdictional task force supported by the Oregon-Idaho High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) program. The team works to disrupt multi-state and international drug trafficking operations through intelligence-driven enforcement.
Officials noted that the information released today is preliminary and may change as the investigation continues.
