Troutdale, OR – Deputies with the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 30-year-old felon Sunday night after locating a stolen pickup and firearm connected to a robbery investigation.
According to the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), around 10 p.m. on October 19, a deputy spotted a pickup parked at a closed gas station near 521 Southwest Halsey Street in Troutdale. After running the vehicle’s license plate, deputies learned the truck was wanted in connection with a possible robbery out of Umatilla County, where a firearm was reportedly taken.
Before the deputy could make a traffic stop, the pickup left the area. MCSO immediately broadcast the vehicle’s description and last known location to nearby patrols and agencies.
About 30 minutes later, another deputy found the truck parked at a gas station near 2533 Southwest Cherry Park Road. MCSO deputies and Gresham police set up containment around the lot to block potential escape routes.
Deputies identified the driver as Jacob Richard Mack, 30, who allegedly refused to comply with commands to exit the vehicle. After multiple warnings, deputies used a less-lethal projectile to gain visibility and compliance. Mack eventually exited the truck without further incident.
No injuries were reported. Deputies recovered a firearm from the vehicle. Mack was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges including unlawful possession of a motor vehicle, first-degree theft, felon in possession of a firearm, and possession of a stolen vehicle.
All charges are allegations, and the suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
