Orlando, Fla. – Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms could drench the Florida Peninsula, the Mid-Atlantic, the Upper Midwest, and Southeast Arizona on Tuesday, bringing a slight risk of excessive rainfall and flash flooding in these regions.
According to the NOAA Weather Prediction Center, rainfall totals could reach 2–3 inches, with isolated areas seeing up to 4 inches through Tuesday, July 15. The combination of persistent storms and saturated ground means urban and low-lying areas—especially in Orlando, Miami, Tampa, Minneapolis, Des Moines, Baltimore, and Tucson—should remain alert for sudden flooding.
In Florida, neighborhoods along the I-4 corridor and low-lying zones are most vulnerable. The Upper Midwest, including parts of Minnesota and Iowa, may see ponding on roads and localized street closures. Southeast Arizona’s monsoon pattern could trigger fast-moving water in washes and canyons. Emergency managers urge residents to stay weather aware, have multiple ways to receive warnings, and never drive through flooded roadways.
With rain likely to continue through Tuesday evening, more advisories could be issued if rainfall totals climb. Flash flood warnings remain possible for much of the affected regions, and travel disruptions may persist.
