According to the Pike County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to an alarm at approximately 3:55 a.m. Sunday at the Jiffi Stop in Pleasant Hill. When officers arrived, they discovered the glass door had been shattered and merchandise had been unlawfully taken.

On Thursday, June 12, officers executed a court-authorized search warrant at a residence in Wilsonville, Macoupin County. Authorities from Macoupin, Calhoun, and Pike counties recovered items allegedly stolen during the burglaries and arrested 40-year-old Casey W. Sobberi.
Sobberi, who was on supervised release from the Illinois Department of Corrections at the time, was taken to the Pike County Jail. Due to procedural policies, IDOC did not participate in his apprehension.
