Mount Holly, NJ – A windy day is ahead for much of New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania, and northern Delaware as a strong northwest flow brings gusts up to 50 mph and falling temperatures throughout the afternoon. A Wind Advisory is in effect for several counties as conditions turn increasingly blustery.

According to the National Weather Service Philadelphia/Mount Holly, winds will steadily strengthen through the morning, peaking between 20 and 30 mph sustained with gusts reaching 45–50 mph. The strongest winds are expected along the I-95 corridor, the New Jersey coastline, and areas north of I-78.

Temperatures should reach their daily highs this morning before gradually falling through the afternoon. By tonight, readings will drop into the 30s across much of the region, with colder pockets dipping into the upper 20s near the I-80 corridor. The combination of falling temperatures and persistent winds will make the evening feel even colder.

Skies will remain partly to mostly sunny through the day, though a few rain or snow showers are possible—mainly near and north of I-78—where colder air aloft may support brief flurries or light sprinkles. No accumulation is expected.

The strong winds may cause difficulty for high-profile vehicles on exposed roadways and bridges. Spotty tree limb damage is possible, and isolated power outages cannot be ruled out. Residents should secure loose outdoor items such as holiday decorations, trash bins, and lightweight furniture.

Winds diminish tonight but remain breezy into Monday, when temperatures stay below normal with mainly dry conditions. Forecasters expect calmer weather to return by midweek as high pressure settles in.

Motorists are encouraged to use caution during peak gusts today, especially on east-west roadways vulnerable to crosswinds.
