Philadelphia, PA – A stretch of dry, cool fall weather continues across the Mid-Atlantic before a brief warm-up and late-weekend rain.

According to the US National Weather Service in Philadelphia/Mount Holly, Thursday will feature sunny skies and gusty northwest winds, with highs ranging from the upper 50s to low 60s. The air will remain very dry, and overnight temperatures will dip into the 30s and 40s, allowing for patchy frost Friday morning — especially in rural New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania.

Friday stays mostly sunny with highs in the mid-50s to low 60s, followed by a gradual warming trend Saturday, when highs climb into the upper 60s. The next chance of rain arrives Sunday evening, as a cold front moves in from the west, bringing scattered showers and a return to cooler weather early next week.

Forecasters recommend residents cover sensitive plants Friday night in areas prone to frost.
