Nashville, TN – A motorcyclist died after crashing into a tractor-trailer Sunday afternoon on I-24 East. The crash happened near the Harding Place exit.
According to Metro Nashville Police, Derek McIntosh, 36, of Smithville, was riding a Harley Davidson FLT. As he merged onto I-24 East, he struck the side of a tractor-trailer. The impact forced the motorcycle underneath the truck.
Emergency responders pronounced McIntosh dead at the scene. The truck driver was uninjured.
Investigators found no evidence of impairment in either driver. Authorities continue to review crash details.
Traffic slowed for hours as crews worked to clear the wreckage. Officials urge drivers to remain alert when merging onto highways.
This marks another fatal motorcycle accident in the region. Safety advocates stress the importance of defensive driving to prevent future tragedies.
