Morrilton, Arkansas – A 23-year-old Morrilton man was arrested after investigators allegedly linked him to child sexual abuse material and online messages with a juvenile.
According to the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit, Collin Cormier, 23, was arrested Wednesday, March 4, after officers served a search and arrest warrant at a residence in Morrilton.
The investigation began after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) received a cyber tip submitted through the Microsoft platform. Authorities said the report identified 100 images of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) associated with the account under investigation.
Arkansas State Police said the ICAC Unit worked with the Morrilton Police Department and Homeland Security Investigations during the case.
Investigators allegedly found evidence showing Cormier had engaged in sexually explicit messaging with a juvenile in Texas and discussed plans to meet the child.
Cormier was transported to the Conway County Detention Center, where he was booked on three counts of Possession of Child Pornography and one count of Internet Stalking of a Child, according to Arkansas State Police.
Authorities also seized multiple electronic devices from the residence during the search. Investigators said the devices will undergo forensic examination as the investigation continues.
Online exploitation investigations often involve multiple agencies and technology platforms, particularly when alleged victims and suspects are located in different states.
The case also underscores ongoing efforts by law enforcement to track cyber tips and investigate reports of suspected child exploitation.
Young internet users and students are frequently encouraged to report suspicious online behavior to trusted adults or law enforcement.
