Morgan County, AL – Motorists traveling along Interstate 65 between Priceville and Hartselle should expect delays this week as daytime patching operations get underway, according to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office and the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT).

Crews from Rogers Group plan to repair potholes between Exit 328 at SR-36 in Hartselle and Exit 334 at SR-67 in Priceville on Tuesday, Dec. 16, and Wednesday, Dec. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., weather permitting.

According to ALDOT, the work is part of a $16.5 million resurfacing project to repave the entire Morgan County stretch of I-65, which is now halfway complete. Crews have already resurfaced the highway from Hurricane Creek in Cullman County to south of SR-36 in Hartselle. The next phase, extending north to the Tennessee River in Limestone County, will begin next year when weather conditions improve.

Daytime patching is required this week due to cooler nighttime temperatures unsuitable for hot-mix asphalt. Crews will first focus on the southbound lanes before shifting to the northbound direction once the southbound work is finished.

Drivers are urged to plan alternate routes or expect travel delays due to single-lane closures. Real-time updates are available through ALGOtraffic.com or the ALGO Traffic app.
