Quad Cities, IA/IL — Hazardous winter conditions continue across the region as strong northwest winds and newly fallen snow combine to create widespread blowing and drifting issues this morning. According to the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities, gusts up to 45 mph are reducing visibility and causing drifts—especially on north–south roads and in open rural areas. A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect through noon.

Drivers are urged to slow down, allow extra travel time, and watch for drifts forming across roadways, including along and north of I-80.

Another fast-moving storm system will bring additional snow on Monday, though totals will be lower than during the recent major snowfall. Forecasters highlight that the best chance for 2 inches or more lies southeast of an Ottumwa, IA to Sterling, IL line. Slick roads and reduced visibility may create travel impacts—particularly during the Monday evening commute.

Residents should continue to monitor updated forecasts as conditions evolve.
