Monticello, IN – The Monticello Street Department announced that Rejuvtec crews will be working across several city streets this week to complete asphalt preservation treatments designed to extend pavement life.
According to Street Superintendent Frank Arthur, crews will apply an emulsion mixture to selected streets followed by a thin layer of sand. The treatment, which poses no harm to vehicles, will be allowed to cure for roughly 24 hours before the sand is removed.
Residents are asked to slow down and use caution when driving through treated areas. Parking will be restricted on the affected streets until work is complete. Representatives from Rejuvtec will place door hangers in advance to notify residents directly.
The following streets are included in the project: Division Street, Beach Drive, Bluff Street, N. Railroad Street, Ireland Street, 2nd and 3rd Streets, Illinois Street, Jefferson Street, Marion Street, Washington Street, and others across the Monticello area.
City officials say the project is part of ongoing maintenance efforts funded through Indiana’s Community Crossings Program, aimed at extending the life of local roadways and improving long-term safety.
This work is expected to continue throughout the week, weather permitting.
