The Woodlands, TX – Residents in The Woodlands may notice a large presence of law enforcement, fire, and EMS units Wednesday, October 22, but officials stress this is only a training exercise.
According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, the exercise will take place in the area of Woodloch Forest Drive and is designed to help first responders practice coordinated response efforts to simulated emergencies. The department emphasized that this is not an active incident and asked residents not to call 911 about the activity.
“These realistic drills are essential in ensuring our deputies and first responders are thoroughly prepared to respond to critical incidents effectively and professionally,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
Authorities issued this advance notice to help prevent misinformation or unnecessary emergency calls as emergency vehicles and crews will be visible throughout the area during the day.
The Sheriff’s Office thanked the community for its cooperation and support as they continue training to maintain the highest safety and readiness standards in Montgomery County.
