
Conroe, Texas – A suspected intoxicated driver is in custody after a chase and crash involving an 18-wheeler along State Highway 99 Saturday evening.
According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 5:39 p.m. to reports of a possible impaired driver traveling westbound near North Grand Parkway and Valley Ranch. Deputies located the vehicle near the San Jacinto River bridge and attempted a traffic stop.
Investigators say the driver fled, leading deputies on a pursuit westbound along SH 99 before crashing near the Interstate 45 interchange. The suspect’s vehicle collided with what is believed to be an 18-wheeler, disabling the car. The driver then ran across the eastbound lanes of the Grand Parkway.
Deputies pursued the suspect on foot and took him into custody. He was identified as Brylan Dugas and transported to a local hospital for minor injuries before being booked into the Montgomery County Jail.
Dugas faces charges including felony evading in a motor vehicle and driving while intoxicated. Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing.
