Montgomery County, TX – Deputies arrested a burglary suspect early Tuesday after a reported break-in at a local autism school.
According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred around 2:45 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at the Thrive Center for Success Autism School in the 16000 block of Dobbin Huffsmith Road.
Authorities said an employee monitoring a live surveillance feed observed a man allegedly breaking into a building on campus that houses the property’s water supply pump and contacted law enforcement.
Deputies with District 4 Patrol responded within minutes. Upon arrival, the suspect allegedly attempted to flee on foot but was quickly detained after deputies established a perimeter with assisting units.
Investigators identified the suspect as 39-year-old Dominick Mazzarella. Following an investigation by the Property Crimes Unit, Mazzarella was arrested and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.
He allegedly faces charges of burglary of a building and evading arrest or detention, according to the sheriff’s office.
Officials said no injuries were reported, and the incident remains under investigation. The sheriff’s office emphasized its ongoing commitment to protecting educational facilities and community resources.
