Montgomery County, TX: K-9 Tracks Suspects in Excavator Case, Caterpillar 303 Recovered

Montgomery County, Texas – Deputies arrested two suspects and recovered a stolen Caterpillar 303 excavator following a coordinated response in the Cleveland area.

According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began Feb. 2 after deputies responded to a report of a stolen excavator taken from a construction site near Faulkner Road. Authorities later located the machinery at an abandoned property near Old Highway 105 East.

When deputies arrived, three individuals allegedly fled on foot into nearby woods. With assistance from Montgomery County Constable’s Office Precinct 3 and Precinct 4, deputies established a perimeter. MCSO K-9 units tracked and located two of the suspects, who were taken into custody.

Investigators with the Auto Theft Task Force also recovered a stolen 2005 Chevrolet C1500 pickup truck at the same location.

Authorities identified the arrested suspects as 31-year-old Taylor Coursey, charged with felony theft, and 22-year-old Presley Snow, charged with felony theft and unlawful carrying of a weapon.

The sheriff’s office said the third suspect has been identified and remains outstanding. The investigation remains active.
