Investigators allege the victim’s wallet was stolen during the break-in, and shortly afterward, credit cards were allegedly used fraudulently at a Target store in Harris County and a Walmart in Montgomery County.
Officials say deputies with the Crime Reduction Unit reviewed surveillance footage from both retail locations, which allegedly helped identify 29-year-old Delores Shaffer and 28-year-old Kendia Ware as suspects in the case.
Following the investigation, authorities obtained arrest warrants for both individuals on felony credit card abuse charges. Shaffer was located March 19 in Jersey Village, where she was allegedly taken into custody without incident and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.
Ware, however, remains at large, and deputies say she is still being sought in connection with the alleged crimes. Investigators are urging the public to assist in locating her.
