Conroe, TX – A months-long human trafficking investigation led to the arrest of a Houston woman this week after Montgomery County authorities recovered two missing teenagers believed to be victims of sex trafficking.
According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, investigators located and arrested 28-year-old Shiann Hutchins of Houston on Wednesday following an extensive operation involving local, state, and federal partners.
The case dates back to late July 2024, when deputies received reports of a missing juvenile and an 18-year-old woman, both thought to be involved in trafficking activity. Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office VICE Unit and Homeland Security later traced a phone number tied to the missing juvenile, prompting undercover agents to arrange a sex-for-money meeting with individuals connected to the case.
Authorities say officers located both teens during a sting operation at a Montgomery County hotel. The two were immediately taken to safety and provided support services.
The Sheriff’s Office Organized Crime Division continued investigating and ultimately identified Hutchins as the alleged primary suspect and a leader within the trafficking operation. An arrest warrant followed, and on December 3, Hutchins was located at a residence in Houston and taken into custody without incident. She is charged with Trafficking of a Child, a felony offense, and is being held at the Montgomery County Jail.
Sheriff Wesley Doolittle said the arrest highlights the agency’s commitment to dismantling exploitation networks in the region and protecting vulnerable youth.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no further details have been released. Anyone with information related to human trafficking is urged to contact Multi-County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-392-7867.
