Montgomery County, TX – Two fugitives were arrested Thursday after a joint operation between the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team and the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force.

According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested 39-year-old Fred Earl Ricks IV and 30-year-old Trevor Alan Spiegelhauer on September 25, 2025. Authorities said Ricks was wanted in Montgomery County on a warrant for aggravated sexual assault of a child. Spiegelhauer was taken into custody on a federal probation violation tied to an original charge of human trafficking.

Both men were arrested without incident and transported into custody, officials confirmed. The Sheriff’s Office commended its SWAT operators and the Marshals Service for their coordination and precision in safely executing the operation.

“This successful arrest also reflects a decade of strong partnership with the United States Marshals Service, working side by side to ensure fugitives are brought to justice and our communities remain safe,” the department said in a public statement.

Authorities emphasized that the operation highlights the importance of interagency collaboration in addressing serious threats to public safety.
