Montgomery County, OH Shooting: Victim Critical, Woman Charged

Montgomery County, OH – A late-night shooting in Harrison Township on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, left one person hospitalized in critical condition and a woman facing felony charges, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the 1900 block of Gant Drive around 9:58 p.m. after reports of a shooting. According to deputies, the incident began with an argument between two individuals before gunfire erupted. When officers arrived, they found the suspect allegedly being detained by someone at the scene.

Sheriff’s officials said deputies provided first aid to the victim, who was later transported by Harrison Township Fire to a local hospital. The victim remains in critical condition.

The suspect, identified as Alaya Watson, allegedly attempted to flee before deputies secured her. She has been formally charged with two counts of felonious assault and one count of escape, according to the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office. Watson is currently being held at the Montgomery County Jail.

Authorities have not released the identity of the victim. The investigation remains ongoing.
