Dayton, OH – A Dayton-area man is now facing additional felony charges after the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office announced a series of arrests and incidents stemming from multiple warrants and ongoing cases this month.
According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, deputies—along with the U.S. Marshals Service, Ohio State Highway Patrol, and Kettering Police—arrested John Dean in the 500 block of Wilmington Avenue on November 17, 2025. The arrest was tied to an active warrant issued by the Montgomery County Common Pleas Court.
Deputies said the warrant was issued on November 13 after Dean allegedly violated court-ordered bond conditions in Case No. 2025 CR 01702. At the time of that warrant, Dean had already pleaded guilty to several charges, including tampering with evidence (F3), having weapons under disability (F3), failing to comply with a police officer’s signal involving alleged serious harm risk (F3), and discharging a firearm on prohibited premises (F3).
Those offenses occurred while Dean was out on bond for a previous felony case (2024 CR 03640). In that earlier case, Dean had also pleaded guilty on October 31, 2025, to obstructing official business (F5) and having weapons under disability (F3).
Deputies said Dean had been permitted to remain out on bond pending sentencing set for January 26, 2026.
In addition to the earlier charges, the Sheriff’s Office confirmed it will now seek further charges tied to alleged attempts by Dean to evade apprehension on November 13 and November 17. The new charges include failure to comply, escape, felonious assault on a peace officer, aggravated possession of drugs, and felony obstructing official business.
The Sheriff’s Office stated it remains committed to ensuring violent offenders are held accountable while protecting public safety across Montgomery County.
