Dayton, OH – A multi-agency narcotics task force operating across Montgomery County reported seizing more than $20 million worth of illegal drugs in 2025, along with hundreds of firearms and arrests tied to drug trafficking and gun-related crime.

According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, the Regional Agency Narcotics and Gun Enforcement (R.A.N.G.E.) Task Force conducted 525 operations throughout the year, including 184 search warrants aimed at disrupting illegal drug distribution and firearm-related criminal activity across the Dayton region.

Authorities say those investigations led to the seizure of large quantities of narcotics, including 21,047 grams of fentanyl, 52,195 doses of fentanyl pills, 20,342 grams of methamphetamine, 59,755 grams of cocaine, 92,576 grams of marijuana, and 31,284 grams of THC. Investigators also recovered $623,700 in U.S. currency believed to be connected to drug trafficking operations.

In addition to narcotics seizures, the task force arrested 205 suspects and confiscated 172 firearms during 2025, officials said. The sheriff’s office estimates the total street value of the drugs seized during the year exceeded $20 million.

“These numbers represent far more than statistics—they represent lives saved and communities made safer,” Sheriff Rob Streck said in a statement. He added that removing fentanyl and other deadly drugs from circulation helps disrupt criminal networks and reduces the risk of overdoses and gun violence throughout the county.

The R.A.N.G.E. Task Force is a collaborative effort involving the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Butler Township Police Department, Adult Parole Authority, Clayton Police Department, Dayton Police Department, Five Rivers MetroParks Police Department, Englewood Police Department, Vandalia Police Department, Union Police Department, the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Ohio State Patrol, and Homeland Security Investigations.

Officials say the task force’s work will continue into 2026, with a focus on reducing the flow of illegal drugs and firearms into neighborhoods across Montgomery County and the greater Dayton metro area.
